StopLocks vs. Full Locking Hooks: Choosing Retail Display Security

Start with the fixture you already have. StopLocks add a security barrier to compatible existing hooks. Complete locking hooks replace the hook assembly and use the locking system built into that product.

When an add-on StopLock fits the job

A StopLock sits on a compatible peg hook. Retailers can place selected merchandise in front for customer access and retain stock behind the lock. Staff use the specified magnetic key to move inventory forward.

This approach can suit pegboard, slatwall, gridwall, and slatgrid displays when the hook dimensions and end shape are compatible. Check the rod diameter and the requirements on the individual product page. Some listed models require a bend at the front.

Our StopLocks collection includes different opening sizes, colors, plain designs, and starter kits. Most individual cases contain 25 locks; keys are sold separately unless the listing specifically includes one.

When to consider a complete locking hook

A complete locking hook may be appropriate when you are replacing display hardware or need features built into a particular hook design. Check the fixture connection, hook length, merchandise access, and required key for that exact model.

Complete front and rear locking hooks are not currently available to order online in our locking-hooks collection. The flat magnetic hand key shown there is an accessory, not a complete hook. Contact us with your requirements before planning a fixture replacement.

• What is the hook rod diameter, and what shape is the front end?
• Do customers need access to some products while reserve stock remains secured?
• Which key does the selected lock or hook require?
