How to Measure Peg Hooks for 4.5mm, 6mm & 7mm StopLocks
The right StopLock depends on the dimensions and shape of the hook you already use. A 4.5mm, 6mm, or 7mm size describes the lock opening; it is not a guarantee that every hook of that diameter will fit.
1. Measure the hook rod
Use calipers to measure across the metal rod where the lock will sit. Measure the rod diameter, not the hook length, the packaging hole, or the fixture spacing. Record the measurement in millimeters and keep the hook model or a clear photograph available.
2. Check the end shape
Look at the bend and any ball or other feature at the front of the hook. The existing product specifications for the R106 4.5mm lock, R101 plain lock, and R105 starter kit require a front bend. For other models, confirm the hook diameter and end shape with us before placing a larger order.
3. Compare the product specifications

Do not select a size based only on color or a similar-looking product photo. Different fixtures in the same store can use different rod sizes.
4. Confirm the quantity and key
Individual StopLock cases contain 25 locks and do not include a key. The 100-lock starter kit includes one magnetic key. Read each listing before ordering, especially when comparing a case with a kit.
Our StopLocks use the R100 StopLock magnetic key. A flat HandKey-style key is a different product.
Try a sample before a larger order
Request samples or contact us with your rod measurement, hook photo, and fixture type. Confirm fit on the actual display before ordering for multiple locations.
