Coat and purse security cable kit with lock box

How to Secure Coats and Handbags on the Sales Floor with Cable Kits

Coats, jackets and handbags cannot hang behind a peg hook lock, but they can be cabled to the rack. A security cable kit is a mechanical system: a steel lock box mounted to the fixture, with steel cables that run through each garment or bag and lock into the box.

What is in the kit

The Coat and Purse Security Cable Kit, D101 includes:

  • One mounting lock box in heavy-gauge steel, with a keyed lock and a hinged door designed to retain the cables when opened.
  • T-bar and U-bolt mounting brackets for wall or rack installation.
  • 12 heavy-duty black steel cables, each 8 feet long.
  • Two keys.

It is a mechanical system. It does not include an alarm.

How it is used

  1. Mount the lock box to the wall or rack with the brackets supplied.
  2. Route a cable through each coat sleeve or bag handle.
  3. Secure the cables in the lock box and lock it.
  4. When a customer wants to try an item on, staff open the box with the key and release that cable.

Adding cables

If you need more than 12 cables on one box, order 8-foot add-on security cables, D102. They are sold individually and attach to a compatible lock box. The add-on cable does not include a lock box or keys.
